Reflection of electromagnetic radiation from a surface that is smooth and large with respect to the wavelength of the radiation. A reflected beam, of intensity governed by the Fresnel equations, is produced at an angle of reflection equal to the angle of incidence.

Note: May be termed specular reflection for non-scattering samples.
